The Bourbon Blog

BottlesNearMe was inspired to provide all bourbon enthusiasts with the best tools to experience the many different, and often rare or incredibly expensive, varieties of bourbons and whiskeys as possible. There are three main ways the average bourbon lover can do this.

First, obviously, you can purchase the bottle outright and enjoy at your leisure. This is where our Bottle Shops application comes into play. This is not a ranking system since you never know where that one bottle you have been searching for may be finding, but a tool to show you the stores in your area to hunt. However, since it is not uncommon to see bottles costing over $100 these days, most people have to be somewhat selective in their purchases or at least have some sort of ranking of bottles they purchase. This leads to the possibility some bottles may not be on the shelf when you come back to make that purchase. That is where our Whiskey Bar and Distiller Tour applications help us on our journey.

The Whiskey Bar locator, like the Bottle Shop locator, provides you with a tool to find Bourbon and Whiskey Bars near you that offer a wide selection on the menu. Since they have a direct relationship with distributors and wholesalers, they are able to get those difficult to find bottles. Also, this gives you the chance to taste the pour without paying for the bottle.

Our Distillery Tour application is the ultimate destination tasting tool. This is a carefully curated list of bourbon distilleries, not a comprehensive list. There were over 5,200 federally licensed distilleries in the United States as of 2023 and that list is growing. Many of the distilleries on our list are legendary. Some are small and you may not have ever heard from them or even seen their products at your local Bottle Shop. All are worth consideration for a visit and the unique tasting opportunities they provide.

Safe travels and Happy Hunting!
